UC Pop-Up at ACE 2021

Exciting news from UC HQ!

We've always been fans of a pop-up - it's fun for organisers, participants and us, of course 😉. A good pop-up allows for experimentation, discovery and learnings - just the things you want when you're bringing people together to connect meaningfully and leave with tangible takeaways.

Come August, we'll be popping over to Melbourne to support the Australasian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE) with their annual member event that aims to Advance, Connect & Engage current and future association and not-for-profit (NFP) leaders in Australia. Here's how:

Empowering members in a post-pandemic future

with Gihan Perera & Uncommon Conferences

ACE Day 2, 3 Aug 2021, 11am - 3pm

Come on an uncommon journey with us

Starting with why you’re gathering is always the most important step in your member conference design. Whether it’s a regular intimate affair of 20 people or an annual gathering of 2000, you want your members to leave energised and inspired.

Once you’ve identified why you’re gathering and what outcomes you’d like to achieve, it’s time to consider the formats available to you.

In this unique ‘learning through doing’ section of ACE 2021, Uncommon Conferences will take you through 3 engaging, participant-led and outcome-driven formats you can apply to your next in-person conference.

Freedom within a framework From energisers to crowd-sourcing, whiteboard breakouts to inclusive fishbowls, there'll be something for everyone. We'll use this time to deconstruct Gihan's keynote and co-create tangible lessons we can take away from his futuristic and innovative approach. The cool part? You'll get to experience it all over a single afternoon.

If you’ve been thinking about how to ‘do things differently’ on the other side of the pandemic, this is the session for you.

Uncommon times call for uncommon approaches.

*** Update: AuSAE and UC are closely following the situation in the Eastern States and we are hopeful of meeting in person in a few weeks. In the meantime, we’ll continue the work of empowering and inspiring members of this community! ***
